SA Equip Cyclone ATEX Ex Air Mover Ventilation System
Take a Breath of Fresh Air
How Can Hazardous Area Ventilation Fans Help Your Business?
The SA CYCLONE EX Air Mover is an ATEX and IECEx approved transportable ventilation fan designed to blow or draw air either as a freestanding unit or with SA CYCLONE Anti-static Ducting attached to the inlet and/or outlet.
It is a thoroughbred SA product that has been painstakingly developed to be highly durable, yet extremely easy to use.
Our SA Cyclone ATEX Ex Air Mover ventilation system is installed with a thermal cut-out motor protection feature so that the air mover, also called air blower or air amplifier and can function in extreme conditions.
The SA Cyclone ATEX Ex Air Mover approved air mover is a high-power portable hazardous area ventilation fan designed for safe and reliable extraction of dangerous vapours in hazardous environments. With the use of interchangeable duct adaptors one unit can be configured for 30cm and 40cm applications.
The ATEX ventilation fans compact design and versatile construction provides increased mobility and performance in the most rigorous conditions. With maximum airflow of 5179m3/hr, our EX air mover safeguards you when it matters most.
- For use with SA Antistatic Reinforced Ducting.
The highly durable & strong components such as the integral cable storage, reduce the risk of damage to the hazardous area ventilation system.
Using IECEX certified hazardous area ventilation units and systems is a compulsory measure for companies working in dangerous environments.
The SA Cyclone ATEX Ex Air Mover Ventilation Systems gives you peace of mind with the use of interchangeable duct adaptors one unit can be configured for 30cm and 40cm applications.
Adding our flexible anti-static ducting means you can create the ultimate hazardous area ventilation system you can count on for smooth, safe and reliable operation.
- For use with SA Antistatic Reinforced Ducting
- Our ATEX ventilation fan is also stackable so that you can save storage space.
During Use
Setting Up and Operating The SA CYCLONE AIR MOVER
- Check that the Air Mover is safe for use and has no defects, paying particular attention to the external cables, impeller, air passage, finger guards and the electrical enclosure.
- Ensure there are no loose particles or excessive build-up of dust layers inside the air mover and that the impeller can rotate feely without contact with the fan body.
- Position and set up the Air Mover according to the previous instructions and ensure it is on an even and flat surface.
- If ducting is required it should be fitted to the appropriate size duct adaptor which is normally pre fitted to the Air Mover, but otherwise should be secured at all 5 fixings points using the fasteners provided (torque setting 3.2Nm).
- Ducting used should be SA CYCLONE Anti-static Ducting following the separate instructions provided. It should be connected securely to the duct adaptor with the fixing strap installed on the ducting. The equipotential bonding lead from the ducting should be connected to one of the 2 earth bolts installed to the electrical control box on the Air Mover.
- The user is responsible to ensure that the final installation provides the air flow required to provide safe working conditions.
- The Air Mover can then be connected to the correct electrical supply using the plug fitted and switched on using the control switch.
- If the Air Mover stops functioning, does not switch on, or there is any unexpected noises or vibrations, it should be switched off and disconnected and taken into safe area before inspecting the equipment.
- If the Air Mover gets damaged during use it must be immediately disconnected from the supply and removed to a safe area for inspection and test. Correct use of the equipment should help to ensure that it is not damaged.
Motor Thermal Protection
The motor is protected by a thermal tripping device that in the event of an overload or failure cuts the supply to the motor so that the surface temperature of parts in contact with the explosive atmosphere do not reach ignition temperature. The Air Mover can then automatically restart after a period of time once the motor has cooled.
It is best practice to isolate the Air Mover from the supply whilst it cools to prevent the motor restarting unexpectedly. If the motor continues to trip when in use then this is due to the motor overheating.
Potential causes for this are
- Motor overload due to restrictions to impeller
- Motor getting hot due to dirty motor enclosure surfaces
- Operating the Device in temperatures above maximum ambient rating
In the event of the motor tripping it is recommended that the user should check for damage to impeller, dirt build up on motor or in fan body and for any unusual noise or vibrations.
If Nuisance tripping persists and if cleaning and or maintenance work is required the unit should be disconnected from the supply and taken to a safe area.
